Hasina’s agents set fire to Secretariat to burn files of her misdeeds: Sarjis

Staff Reporter:

Agents of ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina set fire to the Bangladesh Secretariat in a planned way to burn the files of her corruption and misdeeds into ashes.

July Shaheed Smrity Foundation General Secretary Sarjis Alam made the allegation on Thursday while reacting to the fire incident that claimed the life of a fireman and destroyed many important government files.

“Hasina’s cliques remain hidden within the bureaucracy and the administration burnt the files when the revolutionaries began scrutinising her misdeeds and corruption. We must uproot them for the sake of reforms,” he said.

The cause of the devastating fire that engulfed Building No-7 of the Secretariat remains unknown.

In a post on his verified Facebook, Sarjis said the majority of bureaucrats were stakeholders of the defeated Awami League government and Sheikh Hasina has kept the state power under her absolute control based on them.

“Time is over. Now it is the time to play a revolutionary role. The entire nation stays beside you,” Sarjis said, pointing his finger at advisers of the interim government Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud and Mahfuz Alam.

Sarjis, also a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, called upon the government to take legal action against those involved in the fire incident immediately.
