BNP has welcomed the speech of Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on the next par-liamentary elections in his address to the nation marking the Victory Day 2024 yesterday.
Mirza Abbas, a member of the party’s standing committee, said, “I hope the interim government will hand over power to the people through a fair election.”
He said this in an immediate reaction to journalists after paying tributes to BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman by placing wreaths at his grave on the occasion of the great Victory Day.
Mirza Abbas said that after the fall of fascist Hasina, it’s the public demand to give a fair election for transition to a democratic government.
The chief adviser in an address to the nation at 10 am yesterday on the occasion of the great Victo-ry Day 2024 announced prospective date of next general election from the end of 2025 and the first half of 2026.
