Hasnat dubs JaPa ‘national traitor’

Staff Reporter:

Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Central Convener Hasnat Abdullah on Saturday termed the Jatiya Party (JaPa) ‘national traitor’.

“We must be vigilant since fascism can reemerge at any time,” he said while addressing a programme held at the Laksam Pilot High School ground in Cumilla.

“Meanwhile, we have heard that the Jatiya Party said they and the Awami League represent 50% of the country’s people. The JaPa is a national traitor. How dare they say this disregarding the sacrifices of martyrs in this post-uprising Bangladesh?”

Hasnat said, “I want to say clearly that the Awami League and its accomplices are not relevant in post-5 August Bangladesh and that they will never be relevant either.”

On Saturday, at the party’s Banani office in the capital, JaPa Chairman Ghulam Muhammed Quader alleged that the Awami League and the Jatiya Party which represent 50% of the country’s population have been left out of the call for national unity as they were not invited for dialogue.
