ISKCON’s Bangladesh chapter on Friday claimed it has not issued any statement in support of its expelled controversial member Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, effectively terming Indian media reports on the issue as “false.”
On Friday morning, India’s Anadabazar Patrika and other media outlets published ISKCON’s allegedly latest statement where the organisation voices support for Chinmoy’s efforts in ensuring the protection of Bangladeshi Hindus and their temples.
In a clarification statement, signed by ISKCON Bangladesh General Secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari, the organised denied issuing any such statement and also claimed that it is committed to upholding law and order as well as social stability in the country.
With the statement, the organisation apparently declined to question the legal proceedings being undertaken against Chinmoy for his alleged role in desecrating Bangladesh national flag, and symbolically undermining the country’s sovereignty.
