6 grenades, firearms, ammo recovered in city

Police have recovered six hand grenades, nine magazines and 726 bullets from Banani’s DOHS area.
Tipped off, a team of Cantonment Police conducted a drive in the area and recovered the firearms, gre-nades and bullets from near the bank of No 5 Road Lake in an abandoned condition around 7:30 pm on Sunday.
On information, a team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) units rushed to the spot and made the hand grenades inactive.
Police suspected that the grenades were used for military purposes during the 1971 Liberation War.
