Father attempts suicide ‘after killing his 2 children’ in city

A man allegedly slaughtered his two children before attempting to take his own life in Baigartek area of the capital’s Pallabi on Saturday morning.
Police said the father, Md Ahad, 40, is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospi-tal (DMCH) after being rescued by law enforcers.
The names the deceased boys aged 7 and 3, are yet to be known.
Sub-Inspector Majedul of Pallabi Police Station said on information they recovered the two bodies from the house and sent the injured father to DMCH.
Ahad used a sharp knife to kill his two sons before using it on himself, SI Majedul said.
Police said an investigation is underway over the killings.
