Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said 220 stadiums will be built in upazilas across the country which will be named after the July movement martyrs of that upazila.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Shaheed Farhan Fayyaz playground’ for the physically challenged on the west side of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban yesterday.
The Sports Adviser said that the price of sacrifice and blood of those who were martyred in the July up-rising will never be paid. But we are trying to show as much respect as we can.
He said, stadium will be built in 220 upazilas across the country and we have taken a policy decision that these 220 stadiums will be named after the martyrs of that upazila.”
The school textbooks that would come in 2025 academic year would have the heroic stories of our mar-tyrs written about the July uprising.
He said his government has a plan to highlight the valor of the martyrs in the textbooks so that the July uprising can be remembered by next generation and that effort is being taken from the Ministry of Edu-cation.
Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat Md. Anwar Ullah was present as special guest on the occasion, presided by Youth and Sports Ministry secretary Dr. Rezaul Makshud Zahedi.
Shaheed Farhan Fayyaz’s father Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan and mother Farhana Diba were present on the occasion as guests of honour.
