Sounding a strong resentment over India’s excessive fellow-feeling towards minority communities in Bangladesh, Nahid Islam, an adviser to the interim government, categorically said that the neighbouring country has no right to interfere in the matter.
“The issue of security for minority communities is our own responsibility. India has no need to say anything in this regard,” Nahid Islam, adviser for the Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, said during an interview with BBC Hindi on Thursday.
Apart from the minority issue, Nahid also spoke out about the Bangladesh-India relationship during the interview against the backdrop of 5 August changeover.
“The people of minority communities are our citizen and it is our responsibility to ensure their overall security,” Nahid, a visionary student leader, cleared his government stance.
In response to a query during the interview, he said that it was only wise for India to ask how it could assist Bangladesh during this challenging situation.
Indian mass media have constantly been publishing false and baseless news over the interim government, he said calling upon the neighbouring country to put an end to the issue.
“We want discussions based on facts and better relationships for the betterment of both sides,” he said.
