BNP activists clean up streets after procession

Staff Reporter:

BNP activists were seen spontaneously cleaning the streets in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan after their colorful procession টo mark the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day ended.

Members of BNP’s student wing, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, along with Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and BNP-affiliated rickshaw workers’ association took part in the post-rally cleanup.

Several photos depicting the event were shared on the official Facebook page of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

One of the images shows BNP members holding traditional brooms as they sweep litter off the road, including a female activist in a red outfit taking part in the effort.

Another photo captures a group of activists cleaning a large section of the street as onlookers stand nearby. Some of the participants are seen wearing masks for safety while working.

Netizens reacted positively to the cleanliness drive. Many hailed it as a responsible move for preserving the city’s environment.

A Facebook user, Mohammad Jannatul Hasan Nayeem, commented, “This is how change begins.”

Another user, Munna Khan, wrote, “This should be done at least once a month. Thank you, everyone.”

When contacted, BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Abdus Salam said, “Our Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, encourages positive actions and motivates our members to engage in constructive activities. This cleanup effort is a reflection of that vision.”

He added that such initiatives would continue in the future.
