Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Rahman said, “I congratulate Donald Trump and the people of the United States on his election as the 47th President of their country.”
“We hope he will play an effective role in promoting peace, not only in America but also across the world,” he said.
Rahman expressed hope that Trump’s commitment to ending conflicts in various parts of the globe would be realized and the people of the world are eager to see the implementation of his pledge to cease wars.
He concluded by wishing Trump good health, long life and success in his new role.
