Sarjis Alam, central committee coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has blasted a section of students for their nationwide emergence as coordinators like chameleons against the backdrop of 5 August.
“Many fake coordinators have emerged in the country like chameleons. They will have to be identified. Otherwise they will tarnish our dignity,” he said this while addressing a programme in Madaripur on Friday.
Sarjis, also general secretary of July Martyrs’ Memorial Foundation, also came down hard on former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she fled the country bowing down her head before the student movement.
“Nothing could be more shameful than the fall of Sheikh Hasina and her subsequent escaping the country,” said the student leader.
Calling upon the students who took part in the recent topple-government movement to remain united, he said some key persons of the 16-year regime fled the country but they can return home anytime.
“The consequences will take a worsening turn if we do not unite,” he said.
