Ex- state minister Zahid Faruk arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday arrested former state minister for Water Resources Colonel (Rtd) Zahid Faruk Shamim from the city’s Baridhara area.
“We rounded up Zahid Faruk from Baridhara this evening,” RAB media and legal wing director Lt Col Munim Ferdous told.
Faruk was wanted in several murder cases with different police stations relating to the violence during the anti-discrimination student movement, he said.
The arrestee has already been handed over to Detective Branch (DB) of police, he added.
