One killed in Chhatra Dal factional clash in Ctg

A youth was killed as two groups of Chhatra Dal reportedly clashed for establishing control over a playing field in the port city’s Chandgaon area on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as Zobair Uddin Babu, 25.

Sources said there was a playing field next to the Councilor’s office in the Old Chandgaon police station area.

Two groups of Chhatra Dal were vying for influence over the field, they said.

The feuding groups locked in a clash over the issue on Friday evening and swooped on each other with sharp weapons, leaving two injured.

The injured were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where Zobair succumbed to his injuries, said ASI Alauddin Talukder of the hospital police outpost.
