BNP has planned a massive gathering at its rally scheduled for Tuesday in front of its Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka and other divisional headquarters across the country, marking the International Day of Democracy.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will address the Dhaka rally virtually from London, delivering a special message about his plans and proposals for the next general election and for building a new, discrimination-free Bangladesh.
Dr. Zahid Hossain, a standing committee member of the party and coordinator of the rally preparation committee, made the announcement at a press conference on Monday afternoon.
He said the rally will take place in front of the party headquarters at 2:30 pm. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will preside over the meeting, with top leaders, including standing committee members, also scheduled to address the rally.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, currently receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, may also deliver a speech, Zahid said.
The rally is expected to be one of the largest in recent times, with Tarique Rahman set to deliver a new message to the nation, he said.
Central BNP leaders, including standing committee members and vice chairpersons, will participate in rallies across other divisional headquarters.
Processions will follow brief rallies in the divisional cities as the BNP aims to showcase its organizational strength and popularity through these large gatherings.
This major rally marks the party’s second significant event since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s autocratic regime, according to the BNP leader.
BNP leaders, activists, and supporters from Dhaka and neighboring districts—such as Narayanganj, Gazipur, Munshiganj, Manikganj, and Narsingdi—are expected to join the Dhaka rally.
The BNP’s Dhaka north and city units, along with its front and associate organisations, have made extensive preparations to ensure the success of the rally.
