Babar gets bail in 4 cases including Kibria murder

A Sylhet court has granted bail to former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar in four cases, including the murder of former Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria and an attempted murder case involving the late former Minister Suranjit Sen Gupta.

Sylhet Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Swapan Kumar Sarkar issued the orders on Thursday evening after hearing his bail petition, according to Sarwar Ahmed Chowdhury Abdal, the court’s public prosecutor.

The bail was granted on health grounds, he said.
