Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan has sought Japan’s continued support for further development of the country’s aviation sector.
He sought the support while Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Iwama Kiminori paid a courtesy call on him at the CAAB headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday, reports a press release.
They discussed issues of mutual interest, including the launch of the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and loan repayments to Japan.
Both sides emphasised the importance of expediting the launch of the airport’s third terminal to improve passenger services.
The CAAB Chairman expressed gratitude to Japan for its continued support to Bangladesh and voiced optimism for future cooperation.
The discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation and communication in the aviation sector between the two countries, read the press release.
