Eight police officers, 24 SPs transferred

As part of the ongoing reshuffle in police administration, eight senior police officials were given new postings, while 24 Superintendent of Police (SP) have been transferred to districts.
The transfer was made with three separate notifications issued yesterday by the Public Security Division Police-1 Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs, signed by its Deputy Secretary Md Mahabur Rahman Sheikh.
In the wake of the “Students-People Uprising”, the Awami League government stepped down on August 5. After assuming the office of Dr Yunus-led Interim Government, senior officers in all key police posts and various units are being transferred and reshuffled.
In a notification, Additional Commissioner of DMP (Additional Inspector General Supernumerary) AKM Hafiz Akhter has been transferred to Industrial Police, Dhaka, Additional Commissioner of DMP Dr. Khandaker Mohid Uddin (Additional Inspector General) attached to the Tourist Police in Dhaka and DMP Additional Commissioner Monibur Rahman has been attached to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) headquarters in Dhaka.
DMP Joint Commissioner Hasan Md Shawkat Ali has been promoted to the post of (Super Numerary DIG) Additional Commissioner of DMP, DMP Joint Commissioner Masud Karim (promoted to the post of Supernumerary DIG) has been made DMP’s Additional Commissioner, DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khondkar Nazmul Hasan (promoted to the post of Supernumerary DIG) has been made Additional Commissioner of DMP, DMP DC Md Israil Howladar (promoted to the post of Supernumerary DIG) has been posted as DMP’s Additional Commissioner and DMP DC Faruk Ahmed (promoted to the post of Super Numerary DIG) as Additional Commissioner of DMP.
In another notification, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of 24 districts has been transferred to Dhaka, Rangpur, Gazipur, Comilla, Sirajganj, Chattogram, Manikganj, Mymensingh, Gaibandha, Habiganj, Rajshahi, Munshiganj, Sylhet, Narayanganj, Natore, Pabna, Patuakhali, Bagerhat, Kishoreganj, Jhenai-dah, Magura, Tangail, Jessore, and Narsingdi districts.
The new SPs are – Rangpur district in charge of Rangpur PTC’s Mohammad Sharif Uddin, PBI’s Md. Abul Kalam Azad Gazipur, DMP, Asfiquzzaman Akhtar to Comilla, Ahmed Muin to Police Headquar-ters in Dhaka, Mymensingh Range DIG Faruk Hossain to Sirajganj, ATU’s Raihan Uddin Khan to Chit-togram, CID’s Md. Bashir Ahmed to Manikganj, SP Azizul Islam of Naval Police to Mymensingh, Mosharraf Hossain of police headquarters to Gaibandha, Md. Rezaul Haque Khan of Sarda of Rajshahi to Habiganj district, Anisuzzaman of Noakhali in-service training center has been assigned as the new SP to Rajshahi and Highway Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar to Munshiganj district.
Apart from this, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman of police headquarters to Sylhet, Prottush Kumar Ma-jumdar of DMP to Narayanganj, CID’s Marufat Hussain to Natore, Md. Mortoza Ali Khan of Naval Po-lice to Pabna, police super of Rajarbagh Police Telecom Md. Anwar Zahid to Patuakhali, Touhidul Arif, additional SP of the tourist police was sent to Bagerhat, Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury of Chattogram Railway Police was sent to Kishoreganj, Mohammad Manjur Morshed of Tourist Police to Jhenaidah, Mina Mahmuda of Naval Police, Narayanganj was transferred to Magura, Md Saiful Islam Santu of DMP’s Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital to Tangail, DMP’s Ziauddin Ahmed to Jashore and Abdul Hannan of Habiganj In-service Training Center has been assigned as the new police super to Narsingdi district.
These orders will be effected immediately in the public interest, added the notifications.
