BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has called on the countrymen, including leaders and activists of the party and its associate bodies, to come forward to help the flood-affected people of the country.
“BNP believes that now it is the main duty to protect people’s lives and properties in the flood-hit areas. I call upon the leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate organisations of the entire country, especially in the areas where the flood has not affected, to stand by the people and extend their hands with food, clothes, and medicines and to ensure their security.”
Tarique came up with the call in a video message from London on Friday.
He also urged the BNP men to help the flood victims irrespective of their religion and party affiliation.
Tarique said the sudden flood has been created in the south and north-eastern regions of Bangladesh due to releasing of water from upstream by the Tripura state administration of India.
