Four fresh murder cases were filed yesterday against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her cro-nies in the capital.
Of the four cases, one was filed by wife of private company employee Firoj Talukder, who was killed in indiscriminate shooting from a helicopter of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Sheikh Hasina, former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and former inspector general of po-lice Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun were implicated in the case.
Firoj Talukder got shot while crossing through Mirpur-10 intersection around 6pm on July 19. He was declared dead as people rushed him to a nearby hospital.
Another complaint was filed with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Afnan Somi by Sharmin Akter, widow of one Russel Miah, who was killed in the firing of miscreants on July 19 in capital’s Rampura area. The court after recording statement of the complainant, asked Rampura Police Station to file the matter as first information report (FIR).
A total of 28 people, including Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Mohammad A Arafat and Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, were implicated in this case.
Third complaint was filed against 34 people, including Sheikh Hasina, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Habibur Rahman, Harun Ur Rashid, Biplob Kumar, Sayeed Khokon and Solaiman Selim, over the mur-der of electrician Elem Al Faydi in capital’s Lokkhibazar area.
Jagannath University student Samsul Arefin filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Torikul Islam. The court after recording statement of the complainant, asked Sutrapur Police Station to file the matter as FIR.
Sheikh Hasina was accused in another murder case, alongside 48 others. The case was lodged over the murder of college student Md Touhidul Haque in capital’s Tejgaon area.
The other prominent accused in the case are- Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huq, Salman F Rahman, Hasanul Huq Inu, Hasan Mahmud, Mohammad A Arafat, and Muntassir Mamun.
Touhid’s eleder brother Torikul Islam filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magis-trate Nurul Huda Chowdhury. The court after recording statement of the complainant, asked Sutrapur Police Station to file the matter as FIR.
