Will resist anti-political evil forces collectively: Quader

Staff Reporter:

Claiming that communalism and militancy are still hindering the country’s progress, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has called upon his party men to collectively resist the anti-political evil forces.

“Sectarianism and militancy remain obstacles on the path to prosperity. The anti-political communal forces are gaining strength under the patronisation of BNP. We must unite to resist their influence,” Quader said.

While talking to reporters after placing wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar marking Victory Day, Quader on Saturday said that the communal forces are hatching a conspiracy intending to destroy the country’s political peace and progress.

He also called upon the pro-liberation forces to step forward with the spirit of the Liberation War, to defeat the vested quarter under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and fulfil the vision of transforming the country into a golden Bangladesh envisioned by the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He said that following the brutal assassination of Bangabandhu, the nation experienced a 21-year absence of democracy, with the values of the Liberation War being disregarded. However, Sheikh Hasina returned home six years after the assassination and engaged in a relentless battle to restore the country’s shattered democracy, said the Awami League leader.

Now, he said the country has transformed into a digital one, which is the outcome of Sheikh Hasina’s prudent leadership.

Bangladesh became the 35th largest economy in the world under the charismatic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasin, he said, “We have transformed Bangladesh into a digital country. Our present objective is to make Bangladesh smart. And, we are marching forward with the vision under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.”
