AL’s Bijoy Rally in city Dec 18

The Awami League (AL) will bring out a Bijoy Rally (victory procession) in the capital on December 18 next, marking the Great Victory Day.
On that day, the victory procession will be brought out from the premises of the Institution of Engi-neers, Bangladesh (IEB) and it will end at Dhanmondi-32.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader revealed the program at a joint meeting at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue central office yesterday afternoon.
The joint meeting was held with the central AL leaders and the presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka North and South units of AL and its affiliated bodies.
Quader said the Martyred Intellectuals Day will be observed on December 14 next and the AL will hold a meeting on that day.
AL President Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting, he said.
The AL general secretary said the Victory Day will be celebrated on December 16 and on that day the party will pay tributes at National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar.
On the occasion, a discussion will be held on December 17 next, while AL President Sheikh Hasina will chair the meeting.
AL presidium members Dr Abdur Razzaque, Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, joint general secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, organ-ising secretaries BM Mozammel, Mirza Azam and Sujit Roy Nandi and office secretary Biplab Barua, among others, were present.
