92,595 students get GPA-5 in HSC, equivalent exams

A total of 92,595 students got the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) in the HSC and equiva-lent examinations held in 2023 under 11 education boards, which was 1,76,282 in 2022.
According to the result published yesterday, among the GPA-5 holders, 43,230 are male students and 49,365 are female.
A total of 78,521 students achieved GPA-5 under nine general education boards, 7,097 students under madrasah education board and 6,977 under technical education board.
A total of 953 educational institutions achieved 100 percent pass rate in the Higher Secondary Cer-tificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations-2023 across the country this year.
Of those, 46 institutions are from Dhaka Board, 37 from Rajshahi, 17 from Cumilla, 10 from Ja-shore, 12 from Chattagram, 13 from Barishal, 2 from Sylhet, 13 from Dinajpur and 2 from My-mensingh while the number of hundred percent successful institutions under Madrasa Board is 661 and 140 in Technical Education Board.
A total of 1,330 educational institutions achieved 100 percent pass in the HSC and its equivalent exams last year.
On the other hand, 42 educational institutions see zero pass rate in the HSC and equivalent exam-inations,
according to the results published yesterday.
The number of educational institutions with zero percent pass rate last year was 50.
Education Minister Dipu Moni handed over the result summary to the Prime Minister earlier this morning.
The combined pass rate – across 11 education boards – of the 2023 HSC and equivalent exams is 78.64 percent.
This marks a 7.31 percent drop compared to 2022’s combined pass rate of 85.95 percent.
A total of 10,67,852 candidates passed the exams in all the education boards.
The pass rate of HSC examination in nine general education boards stands at 75.9 percent.
Among the nine education boards, the pass rate in Dhaka Board stands at 79.44 percent. The pass rate in Chattogram Board is 74.45 percent while for Rajshahi Board the pass rate stands at 78.46 percent.
Meanwhile, 73.4 percent students passed in Sylhet Board. The pass rate is 80.65 percent in Bari-shal, 75.39 percent in Cumilla, 70.44 percent in Mymensingh, 70.44 percent in Dinajpur, and 69.88 percent in Jashore boards.
