AL to hold polls in alone, alliance

Awami League (AL) has decided to participate in the 12th parliamentary elections slated for Janu-ary 7 in alliance and alone.
Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua disclosed this to journalists at the party’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue yesterday.
He said, “We have sent a letter to the Election Commission (EC) in this regard.”
It has been mentioned in the letter that the AL will participate in the polls in two ways – alone and in alliance.
“In which constituencies the AL will nominate candidates in alliance and alone in which constitu-encies will be announced on the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers on December 17,” he added.
