Workers Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha yesterday collected party nomination forms as the party started selling nomination papers to pick its candidates to contest in the upcoming 12th parliament elections.
Besides, Noor Ahmad Bakul collected nomination paper for Meherpur-2, Advocate Mustafa Lut-fulla for Satkhira-1, Sheikh Hafizur Rahman for Narail-2, Tipu Sultan for Barisal-3, Ibrahim Khalil for Natore-1, Sabdul Hossain Khan for Jashore-4, Zakir Hossain for Pabna-5, Haji Bashirul Alam for Cox’s Bazar-1, Md Zahurul Haque Tutul for Barisal-2, Mujibur Rahman for Kushtia-1, Karam Ali for Dhaka-1, Golam Najob Pawar Chowdhury for Tangail-7 and Advocate Nazrul Islam for Na-rail-1 collected the forms, said a press release.
Speaking at the nomination paper distribution programme, Rashed Khan Menon said, “We have to treat the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad election as the current challenge to protect the country’s democracy and constitution”.
Noting that BNP-Jamaat is on the verge of losing everything by staging demonstrations on the prescription of the USA, he said there is still the time. If they want to participate in the democratic process of the country, they should unconditionally take part in the elections, he added.
Menon urged all the democratic political parties and people of the country to proceed with the 12 JS elections in a fair manner.
