Covered van in Natore torched

Staff Reporter:

Unidentified people on Wednesday evening set a covered van on fire in Nayabazar area of Bonpara upazila of Natore as the first day of the countrywide 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP-Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties was underway.
The attack on the van of ‘PRAN-RFL Company’ in the Nayabazar was reported around 5:5 pm, said Talha Bin Zashim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence’s media cell.
Responding to the call, two firefighting units from Bonpara Fire Station rushed to the spot to douse the fire, he said.
For the fifth time, BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties are enforcing a countrywide road, rail, and waterway blockade to press home their one-point demand ahead of the national election.
