Mymensingh: A Mymensingh court on Tuesday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing a woman in 2022.
Mymensingh Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Shamsuddin Ahmed handed down the punishment.
The condemned convict is Hridoy, a resident of Akua Jubili Quarter in Mymensingh city.
According to the prosecution, Hridoy had an enmity with Sathi Akter over making missed calls to her phone on September 21, 2022.
As a sequel to the enmity, Hridoy, along with an associate, swooped on Sathi’s house at Akua Jubili Quarter and stabbed her indiscriminately, leaving her dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body.
Sheuli Akter, sister of Sathi, filed a case with Kotwali Police Station on September 24, 2022.
After investigation, police submitted a chargesheet against Hridoy.
