Free medical camp held

A day-long free medical camp and medicine distribution program was held at the BNP central of-fice in Naya Paltan yesterday to mark the party’s 48th founding anniversary.
BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi inaugurated the camp at the ground floor of the party’s central office this morning.
People of different ages began arriving from the morning to receive free medical services. Specialist doctors from various departments examined patients, offered medical advice and prescribed medi-cines.
Services were provided in general medicine, cardiology, dermatology and venereology and oph-thalmology. Necessary medicines were also distributed free of charge.
Speaking at the inauguration, Rizvi said BNP has always stood by people in times of joy and sorrow and has remained at the forefront of national crises and public welfare activities.
He said the medical camp was part of the party’s ongoing social and humanitarian activities, add-ing that improving healthcare services and ensuring access to medical care at people’s doorsteps are among BNP’s priorities.
BNP Health Affairs Secretary Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) President Prof Dr Harun Ar Rashid, DAB General Secretary Prof Dr Zahirul Islam Shakil, Dr Parvez Reza Kakon, DAB leaders, doctors, leaders and activists of BNP’s front and associate organisations and volunteers attended the program.
Hundreds of underprivileged, disadvantaged and low-income people received free medical consul-tations and medicines during the day-long camp.
The medical camp was among several programs organised by BNP to mark its 48th founding anni-versary.
