Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his assumption of office as the President of Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory message issued recently, the Japanese prime minister extended her heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the government and people of Japan.
“Japan and Bangladesh have cultivated firm friendship since Bangladesh’s independence in 1971,” she said.
Takaichi said Japan had consistently supported Bangladesh’s nation-building efforts as a reliable friend.
“Japan is committed to further promoting bilateral relations between our two countries and working closely with Bangladesh toward the realization of a ‘Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP),’” she said.
The Japanese prime minister also wished Fakhrul good health and success, as well as continued prosperity for Bangladesh.
