Dhaka Eye: A new world of thrills takes shape in Bashundhara Central Park

Staff Reporter:

Dhaka’s entertainment scene is set for a new addition, with a large multi-purpose amusement centre taking shape around 47 bighas of land at Central Park in Bashundhara Residential Area’s N Block.

The centre’s main attraction will be the towering ‘Dhaka Eye’, a Ferris wheel standing around 90 metres high. Construction of the wheel itself has already been completed.

The giant Ferris wheel has a rotational diameter of about 82 metres and will have 48 cabins, each capable of carrying six passengers. This means up to 288 visitors can ride the Dhaka Eye at the same time.

A full rotation will take around 20 minutes, giving passengers plenty of time to take in the sprawling view of the capital from above.

The cabins are being built with aluminium alloy and will be fitted with air conditioning, seats, fire-fighting equipment and manually operated doors. Safety and passenger comfort have been given particular attention in their design.

More than just a Ferris wheel

The Dhaka Eye may be the most visible attraction, but it is only part of the much larger development.

The 47-bigha site is being developed with a range of rides and attractions aimed at visitors of different ages and interests. Adventure lovers will get a major draw in the form of a roller coaster described as one of the tallest in Southeast Asia, combining height and speed for an adrenaline-filled experience.

There will also be a Spider Wheel, Drop Tower and several other rides for those looking for a more thrilling outing.

Families and children will have their own attractions as well. An indoor play zone is being built where children can enjoy games and recreational activities in a comfortable indoor setting.

The aim is to bring together thrill rides, children’s entertainment, family activities and leisure facilities in one place.

So, rather than being simply a Ferris wheel surrounded by a few rides, the project is being developed as a complete entertainment destination for Dhaka residents.

Dhaka Eye marks major milestone

Construction of the wider project is progressing, with work continuing on various facilities and attractions. The completion of the Dhaka Eye’s full wheel structure, standing around 90 metres high, marks one of the project’s most significant milestones so far.

Located in the heart of the capital’s busy urban landscape, the new entertainment centre at Bashundhara N Block is expected to bring a fresh dimension to Dhaka’s leisure options once it opens.

From the sweeping views offered by the Dhaka Eye and the speed of the roller coaster to the Spider Wheel, Drop Tower and indoor play zone, the development is being designed to offer something for everyone—from young children and families to thrill-seekers.

For Dhaka residents looking for a place to escape the routine of city life, a new destination is steadily taking shape.
