Citizens aged over 65 to get free train travel

Senior citizens in the country aged over 65 will be allowed to travel by train free of cost under the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27).

Similarly, they will also be provided a 25% discount on metro rail fares.

The initiative is expected to make transportation easier and more affordable for senior citizens, the government said.
