Parliament Secretariat Commission formed

A five-member Parliament Secretariat Commission has been formed under the chairmanship of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram.

The commission was constituted under Article 7 of the Parliament Secretariat Act, 1994.

Four other members of the commission are Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman, and Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

In accordance with the order of the president, a gazette signed by the secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, Barrister Md Golam Sorwar Bhuiyan, was issued in this regard.

According to the gazette, the decision was implemented on 2 April.

As per the Parliament Secretariat Act, the commission will function to make administrative and policy-related decisions for the House.
