The government has ordered to close all the public and private universities across the country from today (Monday) in an attempt to maintain austerity of power and energy at the national level facing the ongo-ing global crisis.
The holiday will be effective in accordance to the scheduled date of the academic calendar of the Eid-ul Fitr.
The announcement came in an order signed by assistant secretary of the ministry Sultan Ahmed, issued from the secondary and higher secondary division of the Education Ministry yesterday. Some instruc-tions also have been given in the office order on power saving.
The ministry has asked the University Grants Commission (UGC) to implement the order as soon as pos-sible.
All the public and private universities across the country will remain close according to the university’s academic calendar marking the holy Ramadan and Eid-ul Fitr, said the order.
