The Election Commission (EC) has published a gazette notification on the results of the 13th National Elections with details of 297 newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs).
The gazette was issued on Friday night with the signature Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Akhtar Ahmed.
According to the notification, in accordance with clause (4) of Article 39 of the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (President’s Order No. 155 of 1972), the Bangladesh Election Commission has pub-lished the names of the candidates elected as Members of the National Parliament.
The gazette includes detailed information about the elected representatives, including their names, fa-thers’ or husbands’ names, mothers’ names, and addresses, as well as the constituencies from which they were elected.
The polls took place on February 12 last where BNP bagged 209 seats alone while its alliance partners Gano Odhikar Parishad one, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) one and Gano Sanghati Andalon one.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secured 68 seats alone emerging as the main opposition party while its alli-ance partners National Citizen Party (NCP) won six seats, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis two and Khelafat Majlish one.
Islami Andolon Bangladesh bagged one seat and independent candidates won in seven constituencies.
