Shadik Kayem announces programmes demanding hall renaming, disciplinary actions

Vice President of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Shadik Kayem has announced programmed to rename some of the university’s hallas and compel the authorities to take disciplinary actions against some of its staff accused of supporting the July killing.

According to the announcement, protesters will surround the Vice-Chancellor’s Office on Sunday at 2:30pm. The demonstration will demand that Mujib Hall be renamed “Shaheed Osman Hadi Hall” and Fazilatunnesa Hall be renamed “Felani Hall.”

Shadik also demanded administrative measures against university teachers, officials, and staff alleged to have supported the July killings.

The programme is scheduled to take place at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, the announcement said.
