Full report of NCC released for public

Staff Reporter:

The full report of the National Consensus Commission has been released for public access.
The eight-volume report includes the Commission’s recommendations, the July National Charter, opin-ions given by political parties and alliances during the consensus-building process, summaries of discus-sions with parties and alliances, other official documents of the Commission and the results of surveys conducted by the Commission, Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said yesterday.
All volumes of the report are available on the website: https://reform.gov.bd.
In addition to the National Consensus Commission, the reports of all 11 reform commissions formed before and after its establishment have also been published on the same website.
Following the assumption of office by the current interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus, a total of 11 reform commissions were constituted from October of last year onwards.
Near the completion of the works of six reform commissions formed in the first phase, the National Consensus Commission was formed with Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus as the chair and Constitu-tion Reform Commission Chief Professor Ali Riaz as vice-chairman.
The heads of the remaining five reform commissions were included as members of this Commission.
However, due to the inconvenience of the chiefs of the Judicial Reform Commission and the Public Administration Reform Commission, two senior members from these commissions were later incorpo-rated as members of the National Consensus Commission.
After the formal launch of the National Consensus Commission on February 15 this year, it engaged in several rounds of discussions with political parties and civil society.
Through this continuous process, the July National Charter 2025 was finalized by July 31 while the charter was formally signed on October 17 with the participation of political parties.
The government has already issued the July National Charter (Constitution Reform) Implementation Or-der, based on the recommendations of the National Consensus Commission.
