Only those registered by October 31 can cast their vote

Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Akhtar Ahmed yesterday said the 18-year old citizens who registered their names by October 31, 2025 will be enrolled in the national voter list.
Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told media at Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon.
He said those individuals who failed to register their names as voters by October 31 would not be in-cluded in the listed.
“October 31 was our checkout date. So there is no opportunity to enroll those names in the voter list after that dateline,” he said.
The Election Commission published the country’s final voter list on November 18 last ahead of the 13th national parliament elections scheduled for February next.
According to the updated list, Bangladesh now has 127,695,183 registered voters. Of them, 64,814,907 are male, 62,879,42 are female, and 1,234 are transgender (Hijra) voters.
On the day of the announcement, EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed officially released the final voter list, stating that all eligible citizens who turned 18 by October 31 had been included.
He also reported that the number of male voters has been increased by 2.29 percent, while female voters increased by 4.16 percent.
