8 dead, 778 attacked in 24hrs as govt fails to curb dengue

The dengue situation in Bangladesh is continuously deteriorating as eight more deaths from Den-gue were reported in 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mos-quito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 364 this year.
The situation seems like the concerned authorities of the government are totally failed to curb Dengue.
During the same period, 778 new patients were admitted to hospitals, raising the total number of dengue cases this year to 90,264, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Three of the news deaths were reported in the Mymensingh division, two in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and one each in Barishal, Dhaka and Chattogram Divisions.
Among this year’s patients, 37.7 percent were female and 62.3 percent were male, the report said.
Of the deaths, 51.9 percent were men and 48.1 percent were women.
Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives, with 101,214 cases and 100,040 recoveries recorded during the same period.
