EC’s expat voter registration app on November 18

The Election Commission (EC) will unveil the expatriate voter registration app (Postal Vote BD) on November 18 to facilitate the Bangladeshi citizens living abroad casting their vote.
“On the evening of November 18, we will inaugurate the ‘Postal Vote BD’ as we aim to ensure the voting rights of expatriates this time,” Election Commissioner Brig Gen (Retd) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah said at the meeting with registered political parties at the Election Building in the capi-tal’s Agargaon, on the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
He urged the political parties to campaign for expatriate voter registration, saying, “If political par-ties promote this, our initiative will succeed.”
Separately, a PID release said that Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will unveil the “Postal Vote BD” app at the EC Auditorium at a function from 6:00pm to 7:15pm on November 18.
The app has been developed to ensure the voting rights of expatriate Bangladeshis.
Meanwhile, the EC will hold an online meeting this afternoon on expatriate voter registration.
According to an EC notice, a training session on IT-of-Country Voting (OCV) will be held via Zoom where all Regional Election Officers, Additional Regional Election Officers, Senior Dis-trict/District Election Officers, Additional District Election Officers, and Upazila/Thana Election Officers will participate.
