The Bangladesh Army has urged citizens to remain vigilant against the spread of false and baseless propaganda on election-related matters concerning Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman.
In a statement posted on its verified Facebook page on Friday (7 November), the Bangladesh Army stated that a number of fabricated claims linking the Army Chief to election management have recently been circulating on social media.
The Facebook post also included screenshots of six examples of the fake propaganda being shared online.
A similar post was published on 19 June, urging public caution against a same pattern of fake propaganda, the statement added.
