Rain, thundershowers likely in parts of Bangladesh

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers across the country including Dhaka division in 24 hours commencing 9am on Saturday.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” said a regular bulletin of Met office.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country

The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

A low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay and adjoining area around September 24.
