The final results of the 48th Special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination have been published.
A total of 2,820 candidates have been recommended for appointment as assistant surgeons, while 300 have been selected as assistant dental surgeons.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) announced the results in a press release on Thursday (11 September).
Earlier, the written (MCQ type) examination for this special BCS was held on 18 July, and the results were released on 20 July.
A total of 5,206 candidates passed — 4,695 for assistant surgeon posts under BCS (Health) and 511 for assistant dental surgeon posts.
According to the 48th Special BCS circular, the recruitment was aimed at addressing the shortage of doctors in the public health sector.
Through this examination, 3,000 doctors were to be appointed — including 2,700 assistant surgeons and 300 assistant dental surgeons.
