The ‘International Literacy Day 2025’ is being observed in Bangladesh today as elsewhere in the world. On the occasion, Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus yesterday called for collective efforts to build a knowledge-based, inclusive and humane society by utilizing the combined power of technolo-gy and literacy.
“The current interim government is trying to build Bangladesh in a new way after the July mass upris-ing. Let us work towards building a Bangladesh where a knowledge-based, inclusive and humane society will be built with the combined power of technology and literacy,” he said in a message issued on the occasion of “International Literacy Day 2025”.
Literacy is an essential element for the development and progress of a nation, he said, adding: “In this modern technology-dependent world, the concept of literacy is not limited to reading and writing alone, but it has been linked to digital knowledge, information usage skills and the ability to participate in technology-based education.”
Prof Yunus wished for the overall success of all the programs undertaken on the occasion of ‘Interna-tional Literacy Day 2025’.
