Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, who is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after being injured during Friday’s clash in front of the Jatiya Party headquarters, is still not out of danger, said doctors.
As of 8:00pm on Saturday, doctors reported that while Nur’s condition is stable, it is still too early to declare him out of danger.
He will remain under intensive observation for the next 36 hours, during which his brain, nervous system, and internal bleeding will be closely monitored. His condition will then be reassessed to determine the next course of treatment, doctors said.
According to DMCH emergency department physicians, Nur sustained a serious head injury, fractures in his nose and jaw, and minor bleeding in the brain.
He has been placed under close ICU supervision, and a special medical board comprising experts from neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and medicine departments has been formed to oversee his treatment.
Doctors confirmed that Nur is currently conscious and able to move normally, though he has significant swelling in his face and around his eyes, with blood clots detected inside the eyes.
