Hasina govt commits mega graft in name of mega dev: Tarique

Rajshahi: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman yesterday said that fas-cist Sheikh Hasina’s government committed mega corruption in the name of mega development.
“They have destroyed every sector from health to education. Bangladesh needs to be built anew,” he said while addressing as the chief guest the biennial council of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP here.
Tarique Rahman said the fascist Hasina government carried out looting and corruption in the name of development.
During the over 15 years rule, Hasina government had unjustly imprisoned, tortured and murdered op-position leaders and activists, he said.
“Not only BNP, but other parties who were on the streets against the fascist government were unjustly tortured,” he added.
He said former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia played a leading role in the anti-dictatorship movement.
He said now, Bangladesh has to be built anew with facing many challenges. Factories and industrial in-stitutions should be built to provide employment to those who are unemployed in the country to resolve unemployment problem.
The biennial conference was also addressed by BNP Chairperson’s Advisers Abdus Salam and former Mayor and MP of Rajshahi City Corporation Mizanur Rahman Minu, Rajshahi Divisional Organizing Secretary Syed Shahin Shawkat, Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP’s former President Mohammad Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, Rajshahi Divisional Assistant Organizing Secretary Obaidur Rahman Chandan, Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP’s former General Secretary Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, Rajshahi District BNP Convener Abu Sayeed Chand, among others.
The biennial conference was inaugurated by releasing balloons and pigeons.
After almost a decade and a half, the biennial conference of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP was held.
Around this conference, the entire city was decorated with posters and festoons of the aspirants. A fes-tive atmosphere prevailed throughout the city.
