Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday said the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman is the future Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
“Tarique Rahman is our future Prime Minister,” he said at the national conference of the Doctors’ Asso-ciation of Bangladesh (DAB) at Wills Little Flower School and College in the city.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman was present as the chief guest at the program.
DAB President Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid presided over the event, and National University Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Lutfor Rahman conducted it.
Mirza Fakhrul said it is not just about establishing a democratic system or voting rights; all rights, in-cluding food and healthcare, must be ensured. He praised Bangladeshi doctors as among the best in the subcontinent but identified systemic issues as the problem, saying, “The culture of mutual animosity has destroyed us.”
The BNP Secretary General also called for an end to slogan-based politics.
