COVID death toll hits 30 with one new fatality

Deaths from COVID-19 has reached 30 so far this year, with one new death reported in the 24 hours till Friday morning.

In the 24 hours till 8am Friday, one another patient was infected with the disease, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in an update. The total infections this year have hit 720.

The deceased was a male patient from the Khulna division. He died while undergoing treatment at a public hospital.

The global pandemic first hit Bangladesh in March 2020, and 29,529 people have died due to the disease so far. The total caseload stands at 22,52,265. The pandemic’s impact vanished in the beginning of 2022, but infections have resurfaced this year.
