Health authorities reported no new fatality from the dengue disease in the 24 hours till Friday morning, and confirmed that 164 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country over the period.
As a result, the year’s death toll stays unchanged at 70, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in an update on Friday.
In the year till date, 18,789 patients have been diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease, 58.6% of which are male patients and the remaining 41.4% are female patients.
Among the latest hospitalisations, 60 were admitted in Barishal division, excluding city areas; 40 in the Dhaka city areas, 19 in Dhaka division, excluding city corporation areas; 19 in the Chattogram division, excluding the city corporation areas; 16 in Rajshahi division, excluding city corporation areas, and 10 in Khulna division, excluding city areas, the DGHS said.
