5 victims of jet crash still in critical condition: Burn Instt Director

Five people injured in the Uttara jet crash remain in the danger zone after undergoing four days of treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, the hospital’s Acting Director Prof Nasir Uddin said on Friday afternoon.

He also added two of the injured school children died Friday. On a positive note, the doctors are set to discharge four-five patients on Saturday due to improved conditions, Prof Nasir told journalists at a briefing held at the hospital’s emergency wing.

In total, 40 are undergoing treatment at the hospital at present. Five are staying at ICU with the most serious conditions, 10 are receiving treatment with less severe conditions, 10 others are under post-operative interim observation while 15 are staying at cabins.

The hospital’s acting chief also said the medical teams from India, China and Singapore held a meeting with burn institute physicians earlier in the day. The foreign doctors also inspected the patient’s conditions on the
