National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organiser (southern region) Hasnat Abdullah has threatened journalists of the media outlets operated under the East West Media Group PLC, a subsidiary of the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group.
The NCP leader issued the threat while addressing a party rally held at the Zero Point in Rajshahi city on Sunday night.
In his speech, Hasnat said, “We have not forgotten the role played by Bashundhara’s media in favour of the killer Hasina. Journalists of Bashundhara Group have once again stepped in to blatantly legitimise crimes. They are conspiring to stage another 1/11. The people will never accept this.”
Later, since the Kaler Kantho published the news link related to his threat on its Facebook page, Hasnat wrote, “Not the journalists, I’ve threatened the media outlets of Bashundhara” in the comment box.
