Claiming the interim government as apolitical, Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, has called upon the people not to elect anyone who will flee the country, leaving the people in an awkward situation.
He said his government wants to hold the most transparent and credible election in the country’s history to take the country forward, upholding the aspirations of the young generation.
“So, cast your vote for a candidate who will remain committed to serving the people’s interests and effectively implement government projects for the country’s overall development, without fleeing the country,” he said while addressing a programme in Madarganj of Jamalpur on Friday.
The government is heading towards holding an election where voters can cast their votes for their chosen candidates, polling agents of candidates can stay inside polling stations and vote counting will take place in an open place in front of everyone, he said.
“We are not supporters of any political party. We will welcome those who will gain victory in the election. If it is not done, it will bring very bad results for us,” he said.
It may be pointed out that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country on 5 August last year, leaving the country in a confrontational situation in the face of a strong movement sparked by the quota reform protests first.
